Jackson Tribute
The 12th Indian International Film Awards festival took place in Toronto this week and there was a special performance by Jermaine Jackson, a tribute to his brother Micheal Jackson, to mark the 2nd anniversary of his death. He made it clear by saying “This is a special moment in the show because it’s a tribute to my brother,”
The former Jackson 5 band member sang a medley of his brother’s hits including Scream, Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ and Can You Feel It.
Jermaine wore a red military-style jacket, V-neck white shirt, fitted black slacks and a black cummerbund, a Michael inspired outfit.
Indian singer Sonu Nigam also joined Jermaine to sing This Is It, the song dedicated to Michael and written by Nigam.
The pair performed at IIFA Rocks, a Bollywood-inspired concert and fashion show bonanza which is part of the academy’s three days of film, song and dance and ends with an in awards ceremony.
Inna and BEP Collaboration?
Romanian singer Inna who is known for such songs as top ten singles ‘Sun Is Up’ and ‘Hot’ has said that she would like to work with hitmakers The Black Eyed Peas.
She has said “I would really like to start doing some collaborations right now, it’s very important to me so I can grow as an artist – there are so many, definitely the Black Eyes Peas, I really think we have a few things in common with our sound and the type of music we like to make and also Afrojack.”
“I could probably get a rapper on a track with me, I love dance tracks with raps in them, I think that works really well, so hopefully in future that will also happen.”
Inna is a very pretty lady and can often be seen in bikinis in her music videos, however she thinks her intelligence is very important as well as her looks. Before becoming a popstar she studied political science which I’m sure is a very tricky subject.
She’s said “I give a lot of importance to the way I look and present myself, it is important for me to show this to the fans. “But what is cool is to be both sexy, interesting and intelligent at the same time, I don’t want people to just think of me as sexy.”
Jessie J
Essex singer, Jessie J performed at Glastonbury last weekend even though doctors have said she should be resting after she broke her foot in a fall. She performed on the Other Stage, sitting on a big golden throne and was joined by a very confident 10 year old girl from Bristol. Shae White was picked by Jessie from the audience after asking for help to sing Price Tag with her.
However since Glastonbury she has stuck to Doctors orders by cancelling some appearances including T In The Park in Scotland, Lovebox in east London and Key 103 Summertime Live in Manchester.
After breaking her foot in two places and needing emergney surgery she has promised her fans she will make it up to them by saying “Sorry doesn’t feel enough to say, I am devastated for my fans that I know have been waiting to see me and working hard for tickets. I was so excited about the summer and I’m as upset as you all are. But unfortunately these things happen. I have to remain positive and I promise I will make it up later in the year.”
She has also recently revealed that she doesn’t want her second studio record, which is a follow up to ‘Who you are’ to sound the same as her first, and that an acoustic album would be tempting.
She said: “I write about life. So the next album will be about the life I’ve led in the last six months. I had seven years to write the first one and I’ve seen a lot of different things. “Things change, but [it’s] just good music. I don’t want it to sound the same, I’d like to record an acoustic album.”
Beyonce
Beyoncé also performed at Glastonbury, she headlined the event the Sunday night but she has recently appeared on Piers Morgan’s chat show too. She talked about her 30th Birthday coming up in September saying “I can’t wait, because 29 is very strange. You’re still in your 20s but you feel like you’re supposed to be 30.
“I feel like a woman. I feel like I’m very aware of who I am. I feel great and I feel like 30 is the ideal age, because you’re mature enough to know who you are and to have your boundaries and your standards, and not be afraid, too polite – but you’re young enough to be a young woman. I’m so looking forward to it.”
She also talked about her “amazing” other half, rapper Jay-Z saying “We’ve been together for a very long time and I’m very happy. Love is the foundation of everything, everything I do.
“My music is inspired by love – from my family, my husband, my sisters. It gives me the security and confidence that you see on the stage.”
When asked if a baby was being planned anytime soon Beyonce said ‘only God knows’
“I always said I’d have a baby at 30,” “I’m 29. But I also said I was going to retire at 30. I’m not retiring.”
Cheryl Cole
It has recently been reported she has been spotted with short, blonde hair! However no pictures are available as she as a injunction banning paparazzi from taking photos of her in private places. However showbiz Editor Elisa Roche has managed to get a couple of snaps of Cheryl’s new hair and is selling them for £10,000 each!
Even Though Cheryl has a bann on pictures being taking of her Roche’s tweet explains how she got them “Paparazzi are BANNED from taking pix of Cheryl in the street right now, by Order of the Court. I’ve read the court order but cannot publish it for legal reasons,” Roche added. “There ARE mitigating circumstances for ‘public buildings’.”
It has been said that the new hair do may have been in preparation for her 28th Birthday party which was on Friday.
It’s been reported the invites were black and purple and read : “You are invited to celebrate Cheryl’s birthday. Friday 1st July. 9pm til late. Venue to be advised. London.”
Rumours have been going around that she is thinking of getting back with ex husband Ashely Cole! Ex Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham has been giving the Girls Aloud singer advice by saying she should “follow her heart”
A source has said that Posh has been in contact with Cheryl after she got axed from the US Xfactor. The source added “After Cheryl told Victoria that she wanted to give it another go with Ashley and she couldn’t go on without him, Posh said, ‘Stand by your man! You’ve got to follow your heart’,”
“Victoria was very sympathetic when Cheryl admitted she was terrified that Ashley would hurt her again.
“Some of Cheryl’s friends have been furious with her, but Victoria was more understanding… Cheryl was relieved that Victoria didn’t judge her and just offered positive advice.”
