Drive – Weekly Roundup (end 27/05) – Hey, Its New!

Back on the Phoenix FM Drive Show after a couple of years absence, and what a busy, exciting and enjoyable first week I’ve had. Hey that’s what is all about.

At the beginning of the week Keith Brown from Essex FSB made his weekly visit to the studio. We got to know each other and chatted about local news and issues which included recent changes in Brentwood High Street, with the inclusion of new stores, the development in William Hunter Way which will include Brentwood’s new cinema and also what’s happening with our public houses in the borough.

Then as Keith made his way out of the door I was joined by Terry Hunt from The Rotary Club of Basildon to talk about the recent 4th Basildon & Brentwood May Bike Rides and more events they have planned for the future.

I also had the privilege of talking to English Fashion model, television personality and presenter Lisa Snowden about a new campaign she is spearheading to encourage women to snack healthily and pack a snack that fits perfectly in their handbags. No George Clooney talk but we did discuss my ‘man-bag’

Meet Me At The Border (@ the Phoenix FM studio)

Had live music on Thursday from Colchester band Meet Me at The Border. They are heading into the studio in the next couple of weeks to record their new EP and they treated us to a couple of their own tracks and an exclusive cover of Aloe Blaccs ‘I Need A Dollar’

It was the return of feature ‘The World According To My G/F’ this week covering topics such as Animals, Geography & those questions you always wondered about but never knew the answer too.

It was also the first #ff (Flashback Friday) looking back on the music world of 2001.

And lastly my unborn son Oli got his radio debut this week.
