Drive Specials – Eurovision 2011 & Keith Brown

Our week of special programmes continued today as we commenced the Phoenix FM Drive countdown to this year’s Eurovision song contest. The 2011 competition is being held in Dusseldorf after Lena was victorious for Germany 12 months ago with her song ‘Satellite’. She is performing again this year, along with another former winner Dana International for Israel. Other notable entries include boy band Blue getting back together to represent the UK, whilst X Factor duo Jedward will be flying the flag for Ireland with the irritably catchy ‘Lipstick’. It’s a week before the first semi-final takes place, and we’ll be previewing some of the songs that feature each day on Drive between now and the final on May 14th.

Keith Brown was also here with a somewhat meaty update on business in Brentwood and Billericay – either that of the two of us were in a chatty mood as we proceeded to discuss matters beyond the 5.30pm news.
