Will you Cry St George for a day

St George’s day is here again and the push for having this day as a public holiday is at full tilt; ala St Patrick’s day. Naturally we like the idea, as its another day off work and all that, but in reality it will it ever happen. It’s odd when you hear other European countries have more public Holidays then us….. This would be one way of showing unity, right?….

This weeks ‘Twofers’ {Which is two tracks from one artist of band}, came from Singer song writer and Club DJ  – Boy George!.…….yes I know, it is a artist named George on St Georges day, kind of connection…you got to excuse my grey cells of imagination – We played Culture Club’s ‘Church of the Poisoned Mind’ and Boy George’s cover of the George Harrison’s classic ‘My sweet Lord’.

As usual we looked at my Comedy show pick for the week ahead……

Paul Merton and Josie Lawrence — Comedy Store – Sunday 24th April 2011

TV’s Paul Merton will be joining Josie Lawrence at the Comedy Store Players for a night of comedy improvisation. Other comedians on the bill include Lee Simpson, Neil Mullarkey, Richard Vranch and Andy Smart.

See Andy Parsons, at the Comedy Store – Tuesday 26th April 2011

Andy Parsons will be joining the Comedy Store Players for a night of comedy improvisation at the Comedy Store. Other comedians on the bill include Paul Thorne, Martin Coyote, Steve Gribbin, Sean Meo and Ian Stone.

Tim Minchin — Royal Albert Hall – Thursday 28th April 2011

Aussie comic Tim Minchin has been called everything from the “next big thing” to the “best musical comedian since Bill Bailey”. And now he’s back on the road with his biggest show ever. It will include some brand new songs alongside some much-loved Minchin classics — but this time with a 55-piece orchestra!
