A MAN has been taken to hospital after yobs sprayed a noxious substance in his face at 8.30pm last night on the doorstep of a property in Beech Road, Basildon.  Police say no lasting damage has been caused but are appealing for information.

It is believed the man responsible was in a group with three other men, who were all white. One of the suspects was about 18 years old, 6ft tall, of slim build with a shaved head.  Another was 19, 6ft tall, of slim muscular build, with stubble on his chin.  And a third is also described as 19, 6ft 3ins tall, of average build, with short light brown hair.   Anyone with information is asked to contact police at Basildon on 0300 333 4444.
