In The Mix- 2nd April 2011

During In The Mix today I had help from a lovely boy called Matt Trayler. It was his first time on the radio and he did very well so I would like to just say a big Thank You to Matt for coming in and we hope to see you back in the Phoenix studio soon! 🙂

Next Saturday I will be giving you details of a very exciting opportunity to win some signed goodies from R&B producer/singer LABRINTH! So don’t miss next week’s In The Mix, from 2pm until 4pm!

And if you want to know about the latest celeb gossip from this week then keep reading…

Max Corden
Last week I mention that Comedian James Corden’s fiancée had given birth to a baby boy and they wasn’t sure what to name him as James’s family tradition would have been to call him Kimberly.
However James was reluctant to do so as he was worried he might get bullied at school.

Therefore this week the couple decided to call their son Max!
Corden’s spokeswoman confirmed the name and said the couple were “both over the moon”.

Red eyes
Robert Pattinson has recently revealed that  he can’t stand the red/brown contact lenses he has to wear when playing Vampire Edward Cullen in the popular Twilight Saga.
He has admitted that he literally has to be held down while make-up artists put them in.

He said, “Everyone else has figured out how to do it, and then there’s two people holding me down because I can’t do it myself… It’s so embarrassing for me – after so many years, it’s still a process every single morning.” He also added “I actually want to get some kind of plastic explosive… I want to kill them.”

‘Lindsay’
Many stars are known for having just one name, such as Rihanna, Madonna and Oprah, and it has been reported that another famous face wants to join them.
Lindsay Lohan has decided to drop her last name as she wants to be known simply as ‘Lindsay’. Her mum called Dina, is apparently also dropping her surname, as is Lindsay’s younger sister Ali and Dina’s two daughter will go by her maiden name Sullivan.

So Lindsay’s name will now be Lindsay Sullivan.
This decision seems to have been made so that she can distance herself from her father, Michael Lohan, who was recently charged with assaulting his girlfriend.

The Inbetweeners Movie
The Inbetweeners have revealed that they have finished filming most of the scenes for their big movie which will be released in August of this year!

Simon Bird who plays Will has said “It’s basically all finished now – I’d say that we’ve filmed 95 per cent of it. We’ve got a little bit left to do later in the year, but on the whole it is finished. They’ve just got to edit it, do the music and all that.”

The film will follow Will, Simon, Jay and Neil from the E4 sitcom, go away on a lad’s holiday to Crete.
Joe Thomas who plays Simon has said “Doing the film has been a big deal for us and I think we took it quite seriously,”

Blake Harrison, who plays Neil then added “The film is not even edited yet or anything. We just hope fans of the show will enjoy the film, and people who haven’t watched the show will also enjoy it. That’s all that is on our minds at the moment,”.

Family celebrate Jade Goody
Local celeb Jeff Braizer, along with his two sons Freddie and Bobby celebrated the life of their mum and TV personality Jade Goody on the 22nd March, two years after she lost her battle with cervical cancer in 2009. Jeff, who has full custoday of the boys, has said The boys are amazing. I ordered 100 balloons for them to let go. I think it helps them celebrate their mum as opposed to sit round and feel inevitably sad. It’s good that they feel like they’ve respected and honoured their mum and they were certainly a lot happier for doing that. They shared it with a lot of their friends as well. I wanted it to be an open discussion for them to take to school the next day. All their school friends were with them when they did it so they could openly talk about mum and that’s what we got so I’m happy.”

Rihanna and Chris Brown
In February it was Rihanna’s decision not to object to downgrade a restraining order keeping which keeps ex-boyfriend Chris Brown 50 yards away from Rihanna — 10 yards at music industry events, after he became violent towards her.

She has said “We don’t have to talk ever again in my life. I just didn’t want to make it more difficult for him professionally. What he did was a personal thing — it had nothing to do with his career. Saying he has to be a hundred feet away from me, he can’t perform at awards shows — that definitely made it difficult for him.”

She also talked about putting on a front saying “I put my guard up so hard. I didn’t want people to see me cry. I didn’t want people to feel bad for me. It was a very vulnerable time in my life, and I refused to let that be the image. I wanted them to see me as, ‘I’m fine, I’m tough.’ I put that up until it felt real.”

Chris Brown has had a different reaction to the incident when he appeared on a US TV programme this week and threw a tantrum when the interviewer seem to talk more about the incident which, happened in 2009, rather than promoting Brown’s new album F.A.M.E.
He has since apologised for his angry outburst.
