On today’s show, aspiring pop star Edmar Castro popped into the studio fresh from his first appearance in the Essex Factor 2011 finals. He and 15 other artists made it through the auditions of thousands across the county to appear each and every Sunday at Chicago Rock in Basildon. From his energy and enthusiasm on the show tonight it was clear to see why.
Hailing from Dagenham and his mum Portugese, Edmar sited the likes of Britney Spears and Katy Perry as his idols, with the latter’s track California Gurls being the one he chose to sing for the first week of the competition.
