Happy Birthday Phoenix 98 FM!

Phoenix turned four this week and on today’s In The Mix I mentioned a few Celebs who share their birthday’s with us.

The oldest is American Dramatist Tennessee Williams. He is famous for writing many plays such as The Glass Menagerie and A Streetcar Named desire.
R&B Singer Jay Sean also has his birthday today, he was born in 1981, so we may hear soon of what he gets up to, to celebrate!
Actress Keira Knightly turns 26 today as she was born in 1985 and lastly Jonathan Groff, probably most famous for appearing in glee was also born today.
So A Big Happy Birthday to them too!

Here is what else has been happening in Celeb World this week…

Professor Green’s Driving Test
Stephen Manderson, better known as Professor Green sadly failed his Driving Test this week.
He explained the reasons for his failure on Twitter by saying “Fuming! Failed over slipping into 3rd instead of 5th… recovered without blinking but still got failed.’
“I shall sort out my gears and make sure I pass next time. Fingers cross I smack it next time.”

However it might take the Hip-Hop singer a while to gain his official licence as he has said “I can’t book a test tomorrow, 10 working days between tests, and I’m on tour.”

Kym marsh gives birth
This week Ex-hear say singer now actress Kym Marsh gave birth to a little baby girl. They have named her Polly and even tough she was 5 weeks early, is has been said mother and baby are both ‘doing well’

In a statement Kym’s publicist said: “Jamie Lomas and Kym Marsh are delighted to announce that they are the proud parents of a baby girl, Polly Lomas. Polly was born on Wednesday evening weighing 4lbs 1oz. Mum and baby are doing well.”

Kym went on early maternity leave as she confessed she had been feeling ‘very down; during her pregnancy so doctors advise she should take a break from filming in the Soap Coronation Street. She said: “It’s not been enjoyable at all. From 28 weeks I’ve been able to breathe a little bit. Yeah, there have been times I’ve been very down.”

Kimberly
From one Kimberly to another.

Comedian James Corden has a middle name of Kimberly and he became a parent this week too. His fiancee Julia Carey gave birth to a baby boy on Tuesday but they have not named him yet.The reason for this is James is unsure whether to carry on his family tradition or not, which is to pass on his middle name.

A source has said “James and Julia haven’t decided on a name but James is really unsure if he should keep the family tradition going. He knows first-hand it’s not a great name for a little boy growing up. He’s wondering whether there is much point carrying it on, as he knows he’s likely to get picked on at school because of it. The little boy is also a healthy big bruiser who looks like he could easily grow up and become a rugby player, and Kimberly is, after all, a girl’s name.”

James has previously spoken about his unusual middle name, saying it caused him to be teased by his schoolmates.
He said: “Every man in my family has it – it’s a tradition. For ages I pretended it was Karl, but my sister was going out with one of my mates and told him, then he told the whole school. It wasn’t great.”

Pranksters
Justin Bieber has ganged up with Will Smith’s son Jaden to get revenge on Jaden’s sister Williow Smith.
10 year old Williow is touring with 17 year old Bieber and last week Williow tried to trick him at a gig so he made plans to give her a scare during her set.

Before his concert in Manchester, he wrote on Twitter, “So the other day Willow decided to try and prank me. PRANK ME.Well now is PHASE 1 of my REVENGE Manchester get ready!!” Phase 1 saw Bieber and Jaden sneaked onto the stage while Willow was performing with their faces covered in face paint.

In a post on her Facebook page, Willow shows she isn’t going to let this go. She wrote, “My big brother’s, Justin and Jaden pranked me on stage tonight… payback!!!”

Donations to Japan
A couple of female stars have donated some money towards Japan after the terrible natural disaster it suffered a few weeks ago.

Popstar Gwen Stefani has donated $1 million, which is equivalent to £619,000, to Save the Children’s Japan earthquake-Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund.
In a statement, Stefani said that she has been “inspired by Japan for many years” she also explained that she had “a true love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and their culture”.

She added: “The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years.”

Actress Sandra Bullock also donated $1 million to Japan relief efforts.

Elizabeth Taylor
Sadly a Hollywood icon passed away this week. Elizabeth Taylor died at the age of 79 from a congestive heart failure.
Her own Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation has called for people to make a contribution in her name or post their personal messages on an official Facebook tribute page. And here are what some stars have been saying.
Whoopi Goldberg, Actress, TV Host
“Today my friend Elizabeth Taylor passed away. Oddly, we all knew this day was coming but still her passing took my breath away. She was a funny, loud, joke tellin, diamond loving, fantastic woman. She played a big role in shaping my life as Whoopi Goldberg. It really is the end of an era.”
Elton John, Singer
“We have just lost a Hollywood giant. More importantly, we have lost an incredible human being.”
Michael Caine, Actor
“So sad to hear about my beautiful friend Elizabeth Taylor she was a great human being.”
Mariah Carey, Singer
“R.I.P. Elizabeth Taylor an incomparable legend who will live forever.”
Victoria Beckham, Ex-Singer, Fashion Designer
“The world has lost a truly iconic beauty, inside and out. Elizabeth Taylor will be deeply missed.”

“Such a sad day, Elizabeth Taylor was the last of the Hollywood greats, and a fantastically charming woman. She also did a great deal in the last 25 years to help the world deal with the HIV epidemic. I am proud to have known her if only a little. She was also the only person I’ve ever met that had violet eyes. They were genuinely violet. So beautiful.”
Piers Morgan, TV Host“One of the great movie stars of all time, on and off screen. Surely the greatest screen beauty of them all?”
Kylie Minogue, Singer
“RIP Dame Elizabeth Taylor…..Like a pure white diamond you’ll shine on and on and on.”
Alexandra Burke, Singer
