The Brentwood Half Marathon & Fun Run

On Sunday 20th March over 3500 runners took part in the 2010 Equity Red Star Brentwood Half Marathon and Fun Run.

I was lucky to be able to mingle with the runners before both races, to hear why and how they were going to achieve this big Sunday morning challenge. The sun shone down on the crowds.

The organisers expect to raise over £45,000 for local national and international charities, which brings the overall amount now raised over the years to in excess of one million pounds.

We learned that following the run, 41 year old Andrew Corbett died suddenly and tragically. The thoughts of us all have been extended to his family since then. Andrew’s family and friends have set up JustGiving webpage to make donations to Little Havens Children’s Hospice at www.justgiving.com/Andrew-Mumfy-Corbett/
